The annual band booster’s car wash is our big fall fundraiser. This year's event will be in two locations, Hy-Vee North and Hy-Vee Barlows, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Unlike the pancake breakfast and the fund-raising sales run by the band program throughout the year, proceeds from the car wash don’t go into student travel accounts. Instead, the money goes into the Band Boosters budget to help fund activities for the band as a whole. Since this is really a fund-raiser for the band booster organization, we try to get the parents involved. Not that band students aren’t welcome to help too, but this is a project that we like to do for the kids. The car wash is a great way to get involved and to meet other band parents.

Our recruiters will be calling parents, seeking to fill two-hour shifts. We hope you can spare us some time and elbow grease. Send a note to a board member to sign up early.
